I, Margaret Melmoth of the towne Milton Abby in the County of Dorset , widow, being of good health and perfect memory do make this my last Will and Testament
I bequeath my soul to God and my body to be buried where my [illegible] son thinks fit.
To my son William Melmoth I give a silver and a gold ring and also to his wife a gold ring all of a marked , [the word looks like spirit] To my son John Melmoth I give my silver tankard, my best bed and all that goes with it including 6 sheets and 6 pillow cases, towels, a silver board, napkins, ½ dozen kitchen plates, a pair of candlesticks, the chest in his room, the kettle, bell ,washing pot, skillet and spit. To my son George I give my silver bowl. I give unto my daughter Elinor a great chest that stands in my chamber, a brass pot and kettle and a flock bed and all that belongs to it, and all this to go to her children afterwards. To my daughter Jane I give a feather bed from her brother John’s bedchamber, a pair of ? [some type of sheets] , a kettle and a great chest. All the rest of my household goods to be equally divided between my children. To Richard Mowwenn [maybe Morrin] and his two sisters I give half a crown a piece and to Alice and ?Hannah H? [cannot make out the complete surname] I give half a crown a piece. To the poor widows I give 10 shillings. And my last £400 that my son John has in his hands shall be used to pay my debts. My loving son William to be my sole executor and ensure all my debts are paid and will be tactful in the doing of this my last Will and Testament This Will replaces all other Wills made previously, and signed by my hand and sealed this 9th day of March 1691.
